Letter 18-03-20

Dear Parent/Carer

A Press Release including a Statement by the Education Minister has come to our attention:

In response to the statement, Ysgol Gyfun Gwyr will close at the end of Friday 20 March. The Easter holidays will therefore begin a fortnight early.

The Education Minister, in her statement intimated that one of the critical decisions that she will seek to clarify with urgency is that of the forthcoming examinations. She is also working with Qualifications Wales and the WJEC concerning this year’s exam series. She will be making a further announcement shortly.

The schools and the Council are now accelerating business planning to ensure the provision of free school meals can continue. If needs be, visit the Welsh Government / Public Health Wales for up to date information and advice concerning the Coronavirus Cov-19, and act on the advice proffered there.

If your child suffers from a pre-existing medical condition, you should consider keeping him/her at home for these last two days before the School’s closure.
